The interior design of this renovated Colonial-era bungalow focused on enhancing natural lighting and creating a sense of simplicity without compromising on luxury or function. The generous proportions of the original residence were retained and extended with the alterations and additions, creating the opportunity to use ornate joinery and architraves, plus feature pendant light fittings and chandeliers that highlight decorative ceiling features.
The custom cabinetry design achieves simplicity with a symmetrical layout and neutral colour palette, including light-coloured natural stone, paint and plaster finishes, creating a contemporary sense of space which is nonetheless sympathetic with the original character detailing.
A soft stone and off-white colour palette was adopted to offer a more contemporary sense of space. New French doors were added to capture natural light and vistas to the newly designed formal gardens and swimming pool that add form, function and privacy to the previously unloved front yard.
