The interior design of this Cottesloe beach house was very important to the clients in helping them realize their dream of a home that combined casual beach-side living with the generous proportions and character detailing of more traditional residences. Craig Steere Architects designed spaces that are well connected yet distinctive based on their function. Formal living areas and bedrooms feature ornate timber joinery, wall paneling and chandeliers creating a sense of luxury and intimacy, with a material palette distinguished by dark-stained timber floors, and neutral coloured walls and ceilings. The more casual family living areas feature inbuilt window seats, cabinetry and subtle lighting design, with timber-framed French doors opening out onto the balcony and outdoor living areas.
